A New Member Finally Introduces Herself

I joined FF&F almost a month ago as a Member, and finally realized that even though I've been participating in threads, I never introduced myself.

My name is Kelly Meding, and my first urban fantasy series debuts next falls from Bantam Spectra.
I've been writing since I was a teenager, and a fan of the supernatural since I was a small child. My parents encouraged my love affair with books from a young age by driving me thirty minutes to a library that had no check-out limit, and by letting me read anything that sparked my interest (from Francine Pascal to Judy Blume to Christopher Pike).  After discovering Freddy Krueger and the Fear Street series at a frightfully young age, I quickly graduated to Stephen King.  That began a lifelong obsession with horror, SF, and fantasy (both books and films), on which I blame my interests in vampires, psychic powers, superheroes, and all things paranormal.

I've lurked on FF&F for over a year now, so I'm thrilled to finally be a member.  I don't keep up an LJ, but my blog is Organized Chaos, and my website is HERE.

I'll leave you with a teaser about my first release, Three Days to Dead (Fall, 09) :

In a city teeming with paranormal creatures, Dreg Bounty Hunters work to protect oblivious citizens and keep the various species under control—by any means necessary.  Evangeline Stone is one of the best,  until she wakes up in the morgue, in a new body, with no idea how she died or why she was brought back.  Wyatt Truman, a Gifted human and former co-worker, is responsible for her temporary resurrection.  He believes she was murdered for information about a rumored alliance between ruling Vampire Families and the Goblin Hordes—an alliance that could prove devastating to humans and their other supernatural allies.  Unfortunately, she only has three days to recover her lost memories and stop the alliance before she dies again.
